Art glass fabrication can be divided into three categories.

Cold glass work is a traditional stained glass technique where glass elements are cut and arranged into patterns held together by lead.

Warm glass work includes techniques used to fabricate glass sheets or three-dimensional work by fusing glass elements together in a glass kiln. Common fusing temperatures are between 1400 to 1600 degree Fahrenheit.

Hot glass work is frequently called "glass blowing". A glass furnace and other equipment maintains the glass at temperatures around 2000 degrees while being shaped.

If you are interested in learning more about some of the tools used for fused glass work, then the slide show below provides more detailed information.
